CTは装置仕様に様々な性能が記載されているが、これはJIS規格に則った値であり臨床運用時の性能を必ずしも表現しない。運用上の性能を正しく理解することは、撮影条件を最適化するという点において重要である。本稿では誤解の招きやすい性能項目のうち、特に影響の大きいと思われる空間分解能と線量利用効率について述べる。
Computed tomographic (CT) scanning often yields lower performance in clinical settings than the performance described in the equipment specifications, which include results measured in terms of various performance evaluations. Evaluating the physical evaluation indexes precisely in terms of image quality and dose efficiency is important for the following purposes. (1)Optimizing conditions for scanning (2)Ascertaining appropriate extraction problems to encourage the improvement of equipment and technology by industry. As described herein, we assess the spatial resolution and dose use efficiency. We especially emphasize items related to spatial resolution and dose use efficiency that influence gaps between actual performance and that described in specifications.
