造血器腫瘍に対する高精度放射線治療の利用
―医学物理学と生物学の接点の探求―

A clinical trial of Total Marrow Irradiation (TMI) and myeloablative
chemotherapy followed by umbilical cord blood transplantation
for high risk hematological malignancies has been ongoing in
University of Minnesota. Although TMI with helical tomotherapy provides
sophisticated dose distribution, there have been urgent issues to be
resolved. Also biological significance in TMI has not been well known.
Here, research projects on medical physics, molecular imaging, and basic
biology TMI will be introduced to explore next generation.
ミネソタ大学では、造血器腫瘍に対する化学療法と全骨髄照射（TMI）を
用いた臍帯血骨髄移植の効果と安全性に関する臨床試験が行われている。
本稿ではTMIの医学物理的研究と生物学的情報に基づいた次世代型TMI
を探索するための分子イメージング、および基礎生物研究内容を紹介する。
