放射線治療のイノベーション

　物理工学と医学生物学の双方に深く関わる放射線治療分野は、医学領域の中でも発展が目覚ましい分野のひとつであろう。本稿では、物理工学分野で目覚ましく発展する人工知能、医学生物学分野で近年注目されている腫瘍免疫、そして個別化医療の最近の知見を紹介し、放射線治療のイノベーションを予想(妄想)してみようと思う。

　Radiotherapy quite involves physics, engineering, and medical biology. Further advancements in these fields will yield substantial innovation in radiotherapy planning, treatment, as well as follow-up procedure. Here, in this article, we introduce recent advancements in artificial intelligence, cancer immunotherapy, and precision medicine. Then, we predict the radiotherapeutic innovations these technologies may produce.
