細径マイクロカテーテルの新たな潮流
─ ASAHI Veloute Ultra ＆ Progreat λTM 17─

最近販売されたASAHI Veloute Ultra （朝日インテック）とProgreat λTM 17 （テルモ）は、肝細胞癌に対するultraselective TACEの成功率向上を目指したマイクロカテーテルである。前者は先端を1.5-Fに細径化しているが、最適なシャフト剛性により1.7-Fマイクロカテーテルとほとんど変わらない感覚での操作を可能にし、逆に後者は1.7-Fであるが先端テーパー加工と柔軟性の工夫により、微細血管への挿入を実現化している。
Recently, two new microcatheters, ASAHI Veloute Ultra （ASAHI INTECC） and Progreat λTM 17（Terumo）, have been launched in Japan. The both microcatheters aim at improvement of technical success of ultraselective TACE for hepatocellular carcinoma. ASAHI Veloute Ultra has a 1.5-F tip, but its pushability is almost comparable with that of a 1.7-F microcatheter because of excellent shaft rigidity. On the other hand, Progreat λTM 17 has a 1.7-F tip, but its flexible well-tapered tip facilitates superselective catheterization into tiny vessels.
