症候性子宮筋腫に対する動脈塞栓術（UAE）は2014年の産婦人科診療ガイドラインに子宮全摘術の代替療法として明記されており、今後医療機関においても子宮筋腫治療の選択肢の一つとして患者さんに提示するようになっていくと思われる。放射線科医もUAE手技だけではなく、適応や術後管理に参加していくことが期待される。
Arterial embolization for symptomatic uterine fibroids is specified as one of the alternative therapy options for hysterectomy in the guidelines for obstetrics and gynecology in 2014. Medical institutions will be presented to patients as one of the options for treatment of uterine fibroids. IRists are also expected to participate in indication and postoperative management as well as procedures.
